About Us
Optimus Investments is a real estate investment manager based in the UK, that acquires core, value add and opportunistic real estate assets on behalf of its principals and investment partners. We achieve this by identifying research-backed investment opportunities that benefit from long-term sector trends. Optimus offers investment opportunities to onshore and offshore high net worth individuals, family offices and institutions who seek to benefit from allocating capital to the real estate market in the UK with an experienced manager.
THE SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM
Suzanne Forster - CEO
A senior leader with over twenty-five years’ experience within the social & affordable housing and property sector; working at executive and non-executive level within complex groups, with turnovers exceeding £300m, debt portfolios in excess of £1.2bn and property asset bases exceeding £4bn. Strong adaptive leadership, drive and integrity and a comprehensive understanding of good governance, with strong financial and business management skills. She has extensive experience of the management, maintenance and development of large property portfolios of up to 40,000 homes and multi office estates delivered in the roles of Finance Director, Deputy Chief Executive and Acting Chief Executive.
Rahul Shetty - Managing Partner
Over 14 years’ experience in investment banking and real estate. Prior to Optimus, Rahul was an investment banker with bulge bracket banks such as Lehman Brothers, Nomura, and Barclays. He has raised £30m of investments from the UK for investments into Indian real estate. He previously managed a commercial real estate portfolio in the UK for a family office. He is a Duke University alumni and also holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
Harsh Adholiya - Managing Partner
Harsh has over 15 years of experience in diverse industry domains including Real Estate, Finance & IT and has worked in the UK and India with global corporations such as ABN AMRO, Convergys, and Wipro. Prior to Optimus, he worked with HDFC in the UK managing their multi-million-pound loan book for over 8 years. He previously managed a mezzanine and new builds portfolio in the UK for an overseas family office.
EDWARD BOURGOIN - non executive director
Experienced non executive director with a demonstrated history of working in the international trade and development industry. Skilled in Corporate Finance, Funding, Asset Management, Research, and Mergers & Acquisitions. Strong entrepreneurship professional graduated from University of Cambridge. Edward has worked across all jurisdiction and asset classes, including med/bio/fin-tech, technology, infrastructure, real estate, life sciences and energy and media.
THE INVESTMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The fund has appointed an independent investment advisory committee to provide strategic direction and oversight of the fund’s investment strategy. The committee will be formed of the following members who bring a varied joint experience of over 100 years.
Shailesh Haribhakti
A career Chartered and Cost Accountant, and a Certified Internal Auditor, Financial Planner & Fraud Examiner. His career spans over five decades. He is the Non-Executive Chairman of L&T Finance Holdings Limited, L&T Mutual Fund, Future Lifestyle Fashions Limited, NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd, Blue Star Ltd, Etc. He is Vice Chairman of GOvEVA consulting Pvt. LTD. His other Directorships are: Brookcorp Reit pvt ltd (A Brookfield REIT), Bennett Coleman and Company Ltd (Times Group), Ambuja Cements Ltd, ACC Ltd, Bajaj Electricals Ltd. He serves on Advisory Boards of Doha Bank and Gaja Advisors Pvt LTD.
Nilavra Mukerji
An experienced social housing and asset management professional working at Director and NED level, with expertise in developing strategy and managing complex high-volume operations, developing building safety programmes and net zero carbon strategies for residential portfolios, managing change and digital transformation programmes at scale. Nilavra has worked with multiple Greater London Authorities in their housing department and is currently the Non-Executive Board Member for Evolve Housing + Support.
Julian Edwards
Over 40 years of experience in real estate having run investment and development Companies in the UK, USA, and Europe. He was Managing Director of Tishman International Group of Companies. He has managed over five million square feet of commercial properties in the UK, acquired nearly £2b of office investments in the UK, undertaken over 2 million square feet of development and refurbishment in the UK and Ireland, and has raised more than £1.5b of debt financing.
